Singapore Management University Summer Program

Founded in 2000, Singapore Management University (SMU) is internationally recognized for its excellence in teaching and world-class research addressing Asian issues of global significance. In this summer program, you will experience four weeks with SMU professors and international students, with each course consisting of 36 hours of lectures divided into three interactive seminar-style sessions per week on the themes of Digital Intelligence, Asian Insights, and Sustainable Futures, designed to provide students from around the globe a platform for a holistic understanding of, and in-depth study of, the digital age, the dynamics of Asia, and the importance of sustainable development. The program is designed to provide students from around the world with a comprehensive understanding and in-depth study of the digital age, Asian dynamics, and the importance of sustainable development.

Digital Intelligence:

Digital Intelligence enables individuals and organizations to skillfully navigate the digital landscape, enabling them to effectively leverage technology for success, especially in today’s connected world. Courses include Introduction to Artificial Intelligence: Impact on Work and Business Models; Cyber Threat Intelligence; Managing Customer Relationships through Analytics; Artificial Intelligence for Societal Transformation; Blockchain Adoption in Financial Services in Asia Pacific; Business Data Management; and IoT Innovations to Drive Economic Growth.

Asian Insights:

Asia is a dynamic region, home to culturally diverse societies at various stages of transition. As a cosmopolitan city-state where entrepreneurship and innovation thrive, Singapore offers countless opportunities for all. Courses include Asia Pacific Business, China Capital Markets, Economic Globalization and Asia, ASEAN Perspectives on Contemporary Issues, and Strategy.

A Sustainable Future:

Sustainability is multifaceted and applies to social and economic areas such as environmental protection and business practices. As one of the world’s top financial centers and greenest cities, Singapore is an ideal platform to explore this topic. Courses include the study of digital technologies for environmental sustainability; sustainable development, multinational corporations and international law; innovations in Asia’s smart cities; and sustainable accounting and reporting.

Application Requirements:

Latest transcripts or official acceptance letter from a domestic university (in English)
Photo ID page of a valid passport (valid for at least 6 months from date of arrival/June 24, 2024, whichever is earlier)
Recent passport photo (taken within 3 months from the date of application)
For non-English speaking programs, TOEFL/IELTS scores within two years. IELTS score of at least 6.5 or TOEFL score of at least 577 (paper-based)/90 (internet-based).

Caveats:

The program has three curricular directions: Digital Intelligence (new), Asia Insights, and Sustainable Futures, with a total of 15 specially curated courses.

Students can enroll in a maximum of two courses, the first being a morning course and the second being an afternoon course
