The 7th Singapore International Music Festival – Western Instrumental Music

The 7th Singapore International Music Festival (SIMF) – Western Instrumental Music Competition will kick off on July 31-August 5, 2024 and will last for 6 days. The Competition is organized by Synpura Conservatory of Music and co-hosted by HOUGANGCOMMUNITY CLUB and SUNJI MEDICAL SOCIETY, SINGAPORE.

The professional jury of the competition will be composed of music experts from renowned music schools in China, Singapore, Australia and other places, and is committed to creating a professional, authoritative and gold-quality music event. The jury will be responsible for the competition, selecting the most promising music talents, enhancing the participants’ professional skills and music literacy, and broadening the participants’ international vision of music.

Piano solo and repertoire

Orchestral & percussion solos:

Strings: violin, viola, cello, double bass
Winds: flute (piccolo), clarinet, oboe, bassoon, saxophone, trumpet, horn, trombone, western percussion (marimba, xylophone, snare drum, drum kit)

Orchestral & Percussion Repertoire (Chamber Orchestra and Small Wind and String Ensembles):

Wind Repertoire, (2 – 15 players)
String repertoire, (2 – 15 players)
Orchestra (15 or more)

According to age and professional ability, there are: Young Professional Artist Group, Junior Artist Professional Group (Group A, 16-18 years old) (Group B, 13-16 years old), Child Artist Professional Group (9-12 years old), Junior Artist Amateur Group (Group A, 16-18 years old) (Group B, 13-15 years old), Child Artist Amateur Group (Group A, 9-12 years old) (Group B, 5-8 years old).

Individual prizes for participants:

The organizing committee has set up five levels of awards: Honorary Gold Medal, Gold Medal, Silver Medal, Bronze Medal, and Outstanding Performance Award.

Contestant Repertoire and Combination Awards:

The organizing committee sets the awards as Honorary Gold, Gold, Silver, Bronze, and Outstanding Performance Awards Individual teacher awards:

All the instructors of the contestants who have won the Silver Prize or above will be awarded the honorary title of “Outstanding Instructor”, and a certificate of honor will be issued by the organizer.

Each subject is scored using a percentage system, with scores retained to two decimal places, according to the scoring criteria did not reach the awards requirements of the subject awards are vacant, the final interpretation of the organizing committee.

Accommodation:

On the first day of entry into Singapore, according to the rules of Singapore hotel check-in time is after 2:00 p.m., please try not to buy a ticket between 12:00 a.m. and 6:00 a.m. on July 31st to arrive in Singapore.

Enrollment Requirements:

Contestants must provide a photo of their individual artwork when confirming their registration, which will be used by the organizing committee to create a commemorative booklet for the contestants, and the contestants’ repertoire cannot be changed within two weeks before the contest.

Costs included:

Audience of international master class, 15 minutes of ensemble playing time for orchestra players, tickets to the Concert of Masters + Award Ceremony, award certificate and trophy issued by the organizing committee, accommodation for 6 days and 5 nights and 3 meals per day (only breakfast is included on the 5th day of the tour), festival bag, competition booklet, competition supplies, tour tickets, airport pick-up and drop-off, 5th day of the tour, daily transportation to and from the event.
